Customer-Driven, Engineered Coil Storage Solutions
Coil storage facility operators are challenged by how to make the best use of space while ensuring a safety-first mindset. Prudent operational efficiency must be practiced while managing costs. In addition, the current "green" push to protect the environment must be incorporated in the storage process. This paper provides a three-decade look back by operators describing their experiences with various means of coil storage; from the rudimentary use of crude wooden blocks to state-of-the-art systems using highly engineered, facility specific designs. Included is a discussion comparing the life cycle costs of various systems and information on their "green" features. This paper provides information of interest from warehouse floor operators through operation management to companies' executive suites.
