Understanding and Controlling Chaos in the Atomization Process
Since the development of the handheld spray gun by Dr. Allen DeVilbiss, there have been incremental changes to improve overall performance. Recent development efforts to understand and control the chaos of atomizing paint has yielded significant improvements including increased transfer efficiency and greater overall spray pattern uniformity. This presentation will take the audience through the discovery process utilizing high speed video and Computational Fluid Dynamic modeling to illustrate the science behind these breakthrough developments.

Ultra-High Transfer Efficient Rotary Atomizer Technology
Recent trends in liquid spray application have seen the wide-scale adoption of rotary atomizer technology used to replace traditional air atomized applicators, based on increased transfer efficiency and overall finish quality improvements. What if there was another breakthrough to significantly increase transfer efficiency? This presentation will focus on Close Proximity Coating using rotary atomizers, the challenges behind spraying very close to a part with electrostatics, and the outcomes that can be achieved.  This new technology provides ultra-high transfer efficiency that significantly reduces VOC output, aiding end users in meeting aggressive Environmental, Social, and Governance goals.
