Successful Fluidized Bed Powder Coating Process

1:00 pm – 1:30 pm Intermediate

A successful powder fluidized bed process is more complicated than just dipping a part. Emphasis is placed on equipment selection, part design, temperature control, and powder management. Attendees will understand the process and its limitations, importance of part geometry and orientation, and preheating and postheating requirements. Fluidized bed sizing, auxiliary equipment considerations, and sizing of enclosure and powder collection equipment will be covered. Attendees will learn the importance of each step and real project experience will be shared.

You Want To Powder Coat What?

1:30 pm – 2:30 pm Basic

Explore the expanding frontier of powder coating beyond traditional metal parts. This session dives into the technologies and process modifications that enable finishing of wood, plastics, and other heat-sensitive materials. We’ll also cover specialized applications such as hot flocking, high-film-build pipe coatings, and the use of powder as a precise, non-destructive testing medium in aerospace and military environments. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the innovations, equipment considerations, and performance advantages that make powder coating successful in these unconventional and demanding applications.
