Leadership Development in the AI Age

1:00 pm – 1:45 pm Intermediate

In a world defined by rapid change and growing uncertainty, artificial intelligence is transforming organizational operation—but it cannot replace the human elements of truly effective leadership. AI can analyze patterns and extend what we know, yet it cannot build trust, make decisions, inspire a shared vision, or cultivate a values‑driven culture. That work still belongs to humans.

This energetic, interactive workshop is designed to strengthen your human capabilities that AI can’t replicate. We’ll explore essentials that belong a leader’s toolbox, learn how to leverage strengths, and develop strategies to address blind spots. Through discussion and exercises, participants will discover new ways to align teams, departments or enterprises around shared values and drive meaningful engagement.

Becoming a better leader is about choosing to grow, choosing to learn, and choosing to lead with intention. Attendees will leave with fresh perspectives, actionable tactics, and renewed confidence—ready to bring greater value to their organizations.

The Manufacturing Environment That Earns Discretionary Effort

1:45 pm – 2:30 pm Intermediate

Most manufacturing organizations don’t stall because their people lack skill or work ethic — they stall because the leadership environment quietly makes average effort acceptable. In this session, Gary Covert explains why discretionary effort in manufacturing rises or falls based on the environment leaders create, often without realizing it. Attendees will learn the three conditions that determine whether people bring their best to the floor, the office, and the plant — and how common comfort-driven leadership behaviors slowly erode execution, accountability, and ownership. This session will show why discretionary effort is essential to growing sales, increasing productivity, and building lasting bench strength — and how manufacturing leaders can intentionally create and sustain the environment that keeps it.
