Liquid Coating Application Basics: Spray Technologies, Transfer Efficiency and Knowing your Material

This presentation will cover the variety of technologies available for applying liquid coatings from manual air spray to automatic bells. Attendees will learn about atomization, transfer efficiency, and where and why each technology is typically used. We will review how transfer efficiency is measured and why it's important for return on investment. In addition to equipment considerations, attendees will learn why coating material properties such as viscosity, compatibility, and shear sensitivity matter in real‑world application. Case studies will be used throughout the presentation to support the various topics.
